Digital Manufacturing Modeling - REMOTE 

United States citizen (required for DOD customer projects)

 

Department: Digital Engineering

Reporting To: Senior Engineering Manager – Modeling & Simulation

 

Scope of Work & Purpose:

The company seeking a subject matter expert that will lead state-of-the art materials & manufacturing process development and evaluation through digital engineering initiatives, delivering innovative solutions for our customers and collaboratively within our ecosystem. This candidate will focus on developing and refining materials-relevant digital twin models and effective data management

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ·         Identify and/or design tools to enable and optimize data curation to feed digital models
  • ·         Design and develop models to analyze large datasets to create manufacturing insights
  • ·         Generate virtual simulation models of manufacturing facilities
  • ·         Develop automation and industrial IOT solutions
  • ·         Develop simulation automation and software solutions
  • ·         Documentation: Prepare clear and concise reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • ·         Communication: Effectively communicate results and their impact to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • ·         Continuous Learning: Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in manufacturing data management and advanced materials
  • ·         Support program development efforts, including preparation of white papers and proposals.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ·         A degree in Materials, Metallurgical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field with 3-5 years’ experience.
  • ·         Basic knowledge of government, commercial, and open-source digital twin simulation tools
  • ·         Basic knowledge of materials science principles with respect to processing-structure-properties relationships
  • ·         Knowledge of PLC, HMI, EtherCAT, EtherNET/IP, HTTPS, etc.
  • ·         Familiarity with key Industry 4.0 technologies
  • ·         Experience building and maintaining predictive and/or prescriptive models using manufacturing data
  • ·         Programming expertise (C++, Fortran, Python, Dbase, etc.) will be an added advantage
  • ·         Basic knowledge of cybersecurity and networking
  • ·         Successful track record to ideating, planning, and executing technical work in an R&D or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • ·         Ability to operate within a project-based technology development environment.
  • ·         Ability to operate within and successfully interface with many stakeholders including company member Ecosystem and end customers.
  • ·         Good oral and written communication skills.
  • ·         Ability to function effectively within a project team.
