PROCESS, MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR ENGINEER

FPC Bangor is looking for a motivated Process Engineer to manage and oversee the maintenance & repair of industrial paper converting equipment. Experience with design, integration and optimization of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs is ideal.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Provide technical knowledge of paper and paper converting

·       Provide lead technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve equipment-related issues

and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

·       Lead the design, project management, and installation of new and replacement equipment for

production improvements.

·       Augment and develop preventative maintenance strategies and structure for improving production

uptime.

·       Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas

for improvement and recommending appropriate solutions.

·       Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time

and improve product quality through the application of Lean and Value-Engineering concepts.

·       Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to develop and implement standard

operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

·       Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, such as throughput, yield and scrap rate and

develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.

·       Participate in cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions and

preventive measures.

·       Provide training and guidance to production teams on new processes, procedures and equipment

to ensure successful implementation and operation.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

·       Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex

process issues with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems. Knowledge of programmable

logic controllers, ability to read and understand equipment drawings.

·       Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma

methodologies and statistical analysis.

·       Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.

·       Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and

stakeholders.

·       Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced

environment.

·       Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

·       Availability to provide troubleshooting and repairs of manufacturing equipment to two 24/7

Operations

Education/Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

·       5+ years of experience as a process engineer or related role in a manufacturing environment

·       Paper Mill or converting operations experience a huge plus.

·       Strong hands on Mechanical and Electrical skills. Experience in troubleshooting and repairing

·       industrial equipment.
