Our well-known consumer goods client is committed to operations excellence and is adding an experienced Continuous Improvement Leader (lean manufacturing expert) for their Baltimore, MD area facility.

This operations role fits in with corporate people and resources to expand application of lean thinking and process imprvoement. For the motivated person, this position is an excellent opportunity for career development and possible future advancement.

Position Summary: Leader of Continuous Improvement is responsible for driving operational excellence across all aspects of the business.  Using the principles of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, this position will help drive the business to constantly eliminate waste, reduce operating costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate all Lean Manufacturing Kaizen Workshops
  •  
    Create project implementation timelines including resources and charts that drives manufacturing process improvements decreasing ‘total' manufacturing costs.
  •  
    Organize and facilitates Kaizen project update and review meetings.
  •  
    Responsible for improving processes, eliminating wastes, and optimizing flow in all manufacturing processes.
  •  
    Educate and align employees to the principles, practices, culture, and philosophies of continuous improvement.
  •  
    Create and perform plant training on Lean Manufacturing tools including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving, 5S, Material Flow, SMED etc.
  •  
    Train/coach/mentor other team members in facilitation techniques.
  •  
    Maintain communications with other corporate plants within North America in sharing “best practices” to drive results and capability development consistency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
  •  
    Current/recent experience in Lean Manufacturing, Lean Enterprise or Continuous Improvement (Required)
  •  
    Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles (Expected)
  •  
    Six Sigma Black Belt certification (Welcome)
  •  
    Has high energy and experience inspiring and motivating cross-functional teams. (Required)
