This is an exciting opportunity to work on advanced avionics systems, tackling complex challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As Lead Electrical Engineer, you will drive the development of next-generation drones by overseeing the design and implementation of cutting-edge electronics and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full PCB development lifecycle, including schematic capture, layout, prototyping, fabrication, and manufacturing.
  • Design and optimize high-density PCBs with advanced technologies, including blind and buried vias, HDI, and flexible PCBs.
  • Develop and refine power supply circuitry, motor control systems, and digital circuit designs for small UAVs.
  • Manage and validate signal integrity for high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, MIPI, USB3, and Ethernet.
  • Support rapid development cycles (6-week sprints) through iterative prototyping and testing.
  • Debug and test electromechanical systems using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software and mechanical engineering, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Create detailed Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for manufacturing and support design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
  • Conduct design reviews and implement product changes based on feedback.
  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source components and manage supply chain constraints.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience:
  • 7+ years in electrical hardware engineering, including PCB design and digital systems development.
  • 7+ years in manufacturing medium-to-high quantities of electronic systems.
  • 5+ years testing and debugging electromechanical systems.
  • Experience creating layouts for single-board computers using system-on-modules.
  • Tools: Proficiency in Altium Designer or similar EDA tools.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Power supply circuitry, motor control, and digital circuit design.
  • Knowledge of high-speed routing protocols (PCIe, MIPI, USB3, Ethernet).
  • Familiarity with common interfaces: I2C, SPI, UART, USB.
  • Understanding of design for DFM, DFA, and DFMEA principles.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus)

  • Hands-on experience with image sensor IC design or camera modules.
  • Background in UAVs, robotics, or aerospace systems.
  • Knowledge of embedded design and simulation for GNSS or wireless radios.
  • Experience with firmware development in C/C++ for microcontrollers.
  • U.S. Military Veteran or active security clearance.
