Job summary
The Director of Operations works for the VP of Operations and is responsible for identifying and prioritizing operational improvement projects, effective planning for and leveraging of resources, setting guidelines for personnel recruitment and onboarding, training and evaluation, managing divisional facilities, and fostering an atmosphere of scrappiness and collaboration.
Responsibilities
-Ensures goals, objectives, actions, strategies and tactics produce the desired results consistent with the organization's mission and vision through development, implementation and attainment of multi-site facility/department goals.
-Assists with development of multi-site long-range operating plan and ensures organizational structures and resources are properly aligned to achieve results.
-Manages recruiting and onboarding of resources, working closely with Corporate Human Resources to attract and retain top talent. Manages key performance indicators or metrics that effectively represent the organization's progress toward objectives.
-Builds, develops and mentors an operations team capable of meeting current objectives and growth strategies.
-Provides leadership and facilitation for problem resolution and improved working relationships.
-Develop strong understanding of various IT systems and ensure that staff properly provide timely and accurate updates in systems.
-Assist with proper functioning of Track-and-Trace, Purchase-to-Pay, and Order-to-Cash processes.
-Ensures the organization is operating in a manner, which complies with applicable Federal, State and Regulatory requirements pertaining to, but not limited to, radioactive materials, licensing compliance, safety, EPA, OSHA, ISO, DOT rules and regulations.
-Must maintain a working knowledge of regulations and establish a monitoring program that responds to audit activity in a constructive manner.
-Maintains professional skills, knowledge and abilities by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies.
-Maintains a safe, clean, secure and efficient working environment by implementing and enforcing procedures, rules and regulations, supports safety meetings that evaluate equipment and/or working conditions.
-Assist in specific activities as required including special projects such as research and development associated with new business, markets and development of joint venture or subsidiary companies.
Minimum requirements
-Clear and confident communication
-Minimum of ten plus (10+) years of general or operational or communications management experience
-Strong problem-solving skills
-Ability to work in team environment, while also delivering independent results

-Bachelor's or advanced degree in relevant field.
Special Position requirements
-Occasional travel to customer, carriers and different company offices.
