SUMMARY:

The Depot / Terminal Manager position is directly responsible for local safety management, driver scheduling, recruiting and staffing, vehicle maintenance, and the overall efficient, effective cost management of the operation while complying with all regulatory agencies including, but not limited to DOT and OSHA regulations. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

●                 Responsible for the supervision, training and performance of drivers and mechanic.

●                 Direct reports will include 12 local drivers, 1 assistant depot manager and 1 mechanic.

●                 Responsible for forecasting and scheduling truck and trailer maintenance programs in order to prevent breakdowns and asset shortages.

●                 Responsible for compliance of all DOT, OSHA, State and Local regulations related to the private trucking industry and the industrial gas industry for maintenance of established standards for the operation.

●                 Responsible for following established policies and procedures required for the distribution and utilization of vehicles, company reporting systems and maintenance controls as it relates to the local operation. 

●                 Responsible for the scheduling and organization of driver trainer activities as it relates to scheduling of new hire training, scheduling of re-certification check rides, accident follow-up check rides and driver performance check ride follow-up.

●                 Assists safety department with accident reporting for fleet- Ensures all accidents and/or injuries are reported within 24 hours and properly investigated.

●                 Works closely with customers to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner.

●                 Work closely with other departments including Operations, Safety, etc.

●       Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

●       High School Diploma or equivalent

●       College degree preferred

●       5+ years of operations management experience supervising a staff required

●       Valid CDL preferred with clean driving record

●       Strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. 

●       Knowledge of Daily Vehicle Investigation Reports

●       Computer skills

●       Must be able to work flexible hours to meet needs and management expectations

●       Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be detail-oriented with good organizational skills

●       Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
