About the Director of Fulfillment Operations
Client Company is seeking a seasoned and strategic leader to oversee multi-site fulfillment operations across its extensive fulfillment network. This senior-level role requires a proven track record in high-volume, multi-site fulfillment operations, operational excellence, and leadership development. The Director of Fulfillment Operations will drive performance, execute large-scale improvements, and elevate customer satisfaction and financial outcomes.

The Director will lead a team of Site Leaders and Operations Managers, ensuring collaboration across departments to meet and exceed key performance metrics. This is a high-impact position requiring strategic insight, hands-on leadership, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Up to 50% travel across the fulfillment network is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee P&L for the entire fulfillment network, driving profitability and cost control.
• Develop and execute operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction across all fulfillment centers.
• Monitor and analyze key operational metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to support recruitment and strategic labor planning efforts.
• Lead the operational budget process, ensuring efficient resource allocation and strong financial performance.
• Develop and implement comprehensive peak season strategies to ensure seamless execution during high-demand periods.
• Foster a high-performance culture by inspiring and empowering site leaders and operations managers.
• Drive talent development through coaching, mentoring, and performance alignment with company goals.
• Ensure the safety and security of staff and inventory by proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  Act as a key driver of operational excellence, continuously improving processes and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of management experience in high-volume omni-channel fulfillment operations, with oversight of multiple facilities.
• Demonstrated success leading teams of 200+ employees, including salaried staff, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
• Expertise in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proven experience managing P&L across multiple fulfillment/distribution centers.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in monitoring key operational metrics, including cost per order, cost per unit, throughput, and orders per hour.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting operational performance to executive leadership.
