Position Summary:

The Director of Sourcing is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end sourcing operations. This position involves making decisions on vendors and products or services to optimize purchasing choices and minimize costs, ultimately driving value for the organization. The individual will define and implement sourcing strategies in line with organizational objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end category sourcing aligned with merchandising strategy
  • Identify and validate factory and supplier options
  • Execute RFQs and RFPs, ensuring accuracy of cost models and financial projections
  • Develop and execute the annual budget with focus on cost optimization
  • Drive supplier and country diversification metrics
  • Lead cost mitigation and avoidance strategies
  • Act as subject matter expert on product categories and global supply base
  • Execute category global tender pipeline
  • Collaborate with merchandising and procurement for supplier onboarding and launches
  • Negotiate supplier terms and lead times, manage rebates and discounts
  • Establish vendor assessments and purchasing terms
  • Analyze financial data for cost reduction opportunities
  • Forecast future demand and manage timely order placements
  • Ensure departmental productivity and continuous improvement
  • Set sourcing policies, approve vendors, and determine sourcing strategies
  • Manage administrative functions, communicate updates to executive staff
  • Oversee project management, including schedules and milestones
  • Create reports to track shipments and vendor yields

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent
  • International sourcing experience preferred
  • Project management skills with ability to establish clear goals and accountability
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling abilities
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to exercise independent judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service-oriented and quality-focused
  • Proactive in seeking quality improvements internally and externally
