Role Summary
We are working with a global manufacturing company to find a Packaging Category Manager who will oversee the North American packaging procurement activities across approximately 130 manufacturing sites, managing an annual spend of around $80 million. This role is primarily focused on corrugated and paper-based products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for the packaging materials team
- Lead supplier negotiations, contract discussions, and supplier selection processes
- Collaborate with operations, R&D, and product management teams on packaging projects and ways to improve
- Coordinate with global category management teams to set strategies, goals, and best practices with the group
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a business-related field (e.g., business, finance, supply chain)
- 5 to 7 years' experience in a procurement role focused on packaging or raw materials
- Knowledge of packaging-related commodities such as lumber, paper, and plastics is a plus
