Oversee the efficiency and effectiveness of production planning and purchasing teams to ensure customer commitments are met using available in-house or outsourced resources.
Develop and set Goals & Objectives for the team, assess performance, and create individual development plans.
Manage the preparation and planning of production schedules through subordinate planners.
Establish and enforce production planning policies, standards, guidelines, technology, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with company and safety policies, and approve production scheduling and procurement practices.
Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data, performing calculations to determine manufacturing processes, materials, personnel, and tools.
Expedite operations to address schedule delays and adjust plans for unforeseen conditions.
Connect marketing and sales demand with manufacturing capacity and revenue plans.
Prepare and submit production planning reports to management, and develop solutions for potential production issues.
Evaluate results and take action to achieve business goals.
Enhance profitability through process improvements and resource utilization.
Manage the operational budget and review customer orders and backorder issues.
Resolve complex problems and customer complaints.
Maintain an end-to-end view of supply and delivery, analyze demand scenarios, and contribute to investment decisions aligned with Business Unit strategies.
Participate in new product launch meetings and forecasts, ensuring smooth production introductions in collaboration with Engineering, NPI departments, and Project Management Office.
Oversee supply chain systems and support projects impacting Planning or Procurement systems and strategies.
Build strong relationships with Strategic Procurement, Supply Planning Management, and Production teams across Business Units.
Lead the monthly S&OP Supply review and participate in the S&OP cycle.
Report to the DF Director, contribute to Business Plan development and long-term strategies, and use the Strategic Plan to address supply risks with long-term action plans.
Leverage the Command Central Supply Chain to enhance visibility and coordination with US and international demand and distribution teams, ensuring efficient customer service and capital release through inventory management.
Education / Experience Requirements:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline; MBA or equivalent degree preferred.
APICS Certification is desirable.
Proven experience in people leadership and team development.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
5-10 years of experience in complex planning and purchasing (global or regional).
Skilled in translating complex situations into simple solutions.
Experience managing product launches and phase-outs.
