Position Overview:

The Technical Sales Director will play a critical role in overseeing the sales operations while leveraging technical knowledge to guide strategy and achieve business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical sales, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the company's continued success and market expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the technical sales team, driving strategy and performance to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Develop and implement sales plans, forecasts, and strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Utilize technical expertise to support the sales team in presenting manufacturing solutions to clients, solving their challenges, and addressing their needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product development, and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, providing exceptional service and support.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the manufacturing industry.
  • Oversee the negotiation of contracts and pricing agreements to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to continuously improve sales strategies and product offerings.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of technical sales professionals, fostering an environment of growth and continuous learning.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of management experience in technical sales, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; an advanced degree (MBA or related) is a plus.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and exceeding performance targets in a technical or industrial sales environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to understand complex engineering concepts and communicate them effectively to clients.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
