Industry leading and rapidly expanding manufacturer is seeking a high caliber Automation Controls Engineer for their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the RTP area. The Automation Controls Engineer will assist in the development and implementation of projects, production, controls and processing methods through engineering and advanced processing control tools and will be well versed in PLC and HMI systems.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing and implementing automation related projects
- Work cross functionally to coordinate changes in the production process and resolve equipment malfunctions
- Develop and maintains Siemens PLC and HMI systems
- Maintains automation related systems and implements required updates (Siemens PLC/HMI/VFD/Instrumentation/Network)
- Reduce process variations and downtime by appropriate troubleshooting and problem solving
- Analyze operating problems, develop solutions and lead the implementation of corrective actions
- Assist in the development and maintains standard operating procedures and operating instructions
- Prepare and maintain data sheets, wiring, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and flow charts
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Experience with electrical process control, instrumentation, automation and computer/data communication systems
- Siemens Automation/Controls software experience preferred
