Position: Plant Manager

Direct Reports: Leadership Team

Reports To: Corporate Director, Manufacturing

Salary Range: $150k to $165k

Bonus: 15% annual bonus

Relocation: Yes

Job Responsibilities: The Plant Manager directs the overall plant activities for production, safety, maintenance, quality, and all other related activities. Responsible for establishing and delivering objectives for the plant including: safety, quality, cost, production standards, employee engagement and service/delivery. Drive plant and corporate goals and objectives. Ensure all support activities are delivered at required levels including: inventory management, scheduling, maintenance, shipping, facilities, engineering, human resources, and customer relations.

  • Communicate all responsibilities and expectations to production team.
  • Oversee and coordinate on-going training and compliance of team members.
  • Organize and conduct shift meetings.
  • Conduct performance evaluations.
  • Perform and document disciplinary actions for policy/procedure infractions.
  • Audit plant for compliance to all policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure the quality of all products by managing and overseeing quality check.
  • Verify that all product checks are completed on schedule to meet acceptable quality standards.
  • Review customer returns and provide corrective actions.
  • Ensure all lines are being maintained and functioning properly.
  • Ensure continuous operation of lines, minimizing downtime. Provide downtime analysis.
  • Plan and schedule appropriate and necessary preventative maintenance.
  • Review daily production and scrap numbers. Maintain production within scrap limitations.
  • Work with HR to ensure shifts are staffed appropriately. Review schedule and make necessary adjustments.
  • Check raw material availability and stock accordingly.
  • Report any improvements that need to be made to meet production standards, safety standards, and product quality standards.
  • Work closely with safety, training, quality, and R&D departments to drive a culture of continuous improvement.                                     
  • Mentor team members to be motivated and engaged regarding achievement of efficiency and quality targets.
  • Acts as a Change Agent by modeling desired behaviors, promoting two-way communication, sharing best practices, serving as first point of conflict resolution on process questions, and cultivating a culture of feedback between team members and management.
  • Provides direction, development, and leadership to team members. Trains, evaluates, and disciplines team members.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related degree required.
  • MS and/or Registered as a Professional Engineer a major plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant management experience within chemicals, petrochemicals, or a closely related industry required.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience a major plus.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations for jurisdiction. Process Safety Management (PSM) experience a major plus.
  • Demonstrated project management and process improvement management.
  • Detail oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment.
  • Microsoft Office including Advanced Excel skills.
  • Must be able to maintain collaborative working relationships with plant staff, production supervisors, operators, and maintenance personnel.
