Position: Occupational Safety Manager, SIF (Serious Injury or Fatality)

Direct Reports: Individual contributor

Reports To: Director, EHS

Salary Range: $135k to $155k DOE

Bonus: 20% annual bonus

Relocation: Yes

Job Responsibilities: The Occupational Safety Manager, SIF will focus on Serious Injury or Fatality (SIF) metrics. This position will be responsible for monitoring and continuously improving the effectiveness of the Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) safety focus across all sites and sectors. The role can be based out of Morristown, NJ or Alpharetta, GA but remote is definitely on the table.

  • Provides leadership and direction to organization to develop and implement sustainable EHS systems, programs, and processes that promote a culture of EHS excellence and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Drives targeted injury/incident reduction efforts to ensure improvements in EHS performance and supports the long-term goal of eliminating all EHS incidents across company’s global footprint.
  • Provides onsite coaching and training on Occupational Health & Safety requirements, SIF (Serious Injury and Fatality) initiatives, and Safety Leadership engagements.
  • Collaborates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of guidelines with respect to SIF/ Occupational Health & Safety (including Industrial Hygiene) to provide consistent direction across the organization.
  • Manages information and reporting, including the generation of reports, their corresponding analysis, and proposed improvement actions around metrics and initiatives related to SIF and Occupational H&S. Establishes and monitors key performance indicators to ensure compliance, clarity and communication.
  • Manages (supported by sponsors) allocation of resources and sets participation expectations with agreed-upon priorities to achieve SIF program objectives.
  • Participates in the investigation of personnel safety, process safety, and environmental incidents and the development of effective corrective actions. Tracks and reports on the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assesses new developments and emerging issues in the health, safety, and environmental fields that may impact operations.
  • Participates in internal EHS auditing programs.
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene or other closely related degree required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of PSM, Safety and Environmental experience in a chemical manufacturing setting required.
  • Excellent communication skills-verbal, written and presentation.
  • Must be able to work with all plant positions to influence and lead safety initiatives.
  • 30-50% travel expectation.
