Position: Plant Manager
Direct Reports: Leadership Team
Reports To: VP of Operations
Salary Range: $165k to $190k
Bonus: 20% annual bonus
Relocation: Yes
Job Responsibilities: The Plant Manager oversees operations ensuring production goals are safely achieved in compliance with regulations and within budget, while improving quality, productivity, and sustainability standards.
- Lead daily plant operations with a hands-on approach to meet site goals in quality, SIFOT, customer satisfaction, and production schedules.
- Promote safety culture through leadership, actions, and developing safety programs.
- Create, plan, and implement a long-term strategic vision for the site.
- Maximize plant productivity and efficiency while delivering quality goods and services.
- Manage expenses and capital spending to meet production plans within the plant budget.
- Guide, supervise, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
- Creating a positive work environment and promoting a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Managing and organizing daily operations and personnel to optimize safety, production efficiency, quality, customer service, and profitability.
- Point of contact for Corporate HR overseeing recruitment, employee retention, succession planning, grievance resolution, and corporate policy administration.
- Developing and planning annual budget while reviewing performance to budget.
- Analyzing productivity, identifying issues, and setting production goals using operational metrics.
- Reporting on monthly sales, daily production, and inventory vs shipping as needed.
- Implementing the Management of Change (MOC) procedures as required.
- Communicate and establish clear goals and deliverables for direct reports and plant.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or other closely related degree required.
- Proven experience with Continuous Improvement / Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in an Operations Management type role.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment. Prior packaging plant experience a major plus.
- Strong working knowledge of material handling equipment in corrosive environments.
- Strong understanding of Maintenance & Reliability.
- Food Safety knowledge is a major plus (HAACP, SQF, FISMA, etc.…).
