Position: Production Manager

Direct Reports: 2 Process Engineers, 1 Lean Coordinator, 1 Manufacturing Support Specialist, 4 Shift Supervisors, and 40 hourly Process Technicians

Reports To: Plant Manager

Salary Range: $130k to $145k DOE

Job Responsibilities: The Production Manager will be responsible for leading the production operations for a new greenfield plant. This position will be part of the operations preparations team while the plant is being built and then lead the production start-up, working with the rest of the management team.

• Ensures a safe work environment through strict adherence to company’s safety policies and procedures, while driving continuous improvement in the areas of safety and housekeeping.
• Responsible for maintaining controlled and capable processes with the emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, and environmental compliance.
• Provides the leadership needed to ensure product quality meets the customer’s expectations for all products shipped from the plant.
• Efficient utilization of plant personnel and equipment to maximize productivity and cost effectiveness in meeting the plant’s business plan (JE, OEE, CSF produced, etc.).
• Provides a trained and motivated workforce capable of implementing the plant’s business strategy.
• Works with other departments to actively pursue manufacturing improvement programs along with fostering a One Plant partnership with other departments and peers to achieve aligned goals.
• This position will be involved with during the build phase:
  Develop all operator standard operating procedures from raw material unloading through final product. Work with HSE manager to develop site specific safety and environmental procedures and training documents, i.e., LOTO, Confined Space, JHA’s, etc. Develop all production job descriptions. Develop all work instructions for each position. Create operator checklists that support work instructions daily tasks. Develop all training documentation for production positions. Develop all quality testing procedures. Be part of the hiring and associate selection team that fills all the open positions. Be part of the build team connecting the operational documentation to the specific machine manufacturer recommendations. Develop Leader Standard work for all production leadership positions. Develop 5S Standards for each area in production.
   

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, or other closely related degree required.
  10 + years of leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting required.
• Experience, knowledge or trained in Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
• Ability to effectively motivate and bring together a new team with everyone focused on Operational Excellence.
• Greenfield or Brownfield start-up experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, JDE, Maximo or equivalent ERP and management systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.
• Ability to grow and mentor talent.
• Possesses strong process and financial acumen.
