Position: Senior Process Engineer

Salary Range: $110K-$120K

Job Description:

The Senior Process Engineer will play a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance. This position will serve as the Senior Process Technical Manager/Expert at a new Fiberglass Mat Plant in Chester, South Carolina, slated to begin operations in Q1-Q2 of 2025. They will be integral to the operational readiness team during the plant's construction phase and will subsequently lead process-related activities in collaboration with the production manager and other team members, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and mentor a junior process engineer
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to optimize efficiency and enhance product quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production operations
• Lead process improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and equipment for enhancement opportunities
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation
• Train and mentor junior staff
• Stay current with manufacturing technology advancements
• Work with suppliers to ensure quality materials and resolve issues
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

Required Qualifications:

• 8-10 years of hands-on process engineering experience
• Experience in wet formed fiberglass mat process or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, master's preferred
• Track record of implementing process improvement initiatives
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong technical writing skills
• Ability to lead and develop junior staff
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma preferred
• Customer service focus and results-oriented mindset
• Greenfield or Brownfield start-up experience preferred
