Head of Supply Chain – North America

FPC Bangor is working with a chemical supplier with an urgent need for a Supply Chain Director to oversee and manage the supply chain operations in the US and Canada. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, logistics, and procurement, with experience in the chemical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement supply chain strategies that optimize efficiency and reduce costs. This includes identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and risk mitigation.

• Manage the procurement process, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management. This includes developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers.

• Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. This includes ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This includes monitoring changes to regulations and standards that may impact supply chain operations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with business objectives. This includes working closely with sales, marketing, finance, and other departments.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and customers. This includes identifying

opportunities for collaboration and partnership.

 

• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for improvement. This includes staying up -to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

• Track, manage and improve the operational metrics of the supply chain organization like: Networking capital, Perfect order rate, C2C cycle time, inventory turnover, order to lead and supplier delivery performance and align it with North America targets for PP&C

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

• 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement.

• Experience in the chemical industry is strongly preferred.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a matrix organization.

• Strong understanding of chemistry industry.

• Strong skills in management of action plans.

• A pragmatic entrepreneur, able to build and maintain relationships on different levels, both internally and externally

• Decisive and logical at thoroughly evaluating issues; Excellent planning, execution and project management skills.

• Thinking out of the box; ability for fast successful actions.

• Computer literate, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Travel expectations= 20% US & Canada
