Well respected Design & Construction Engineering Firm seeks a Senior Director – Office Head to grow and lead its Bay Area Office Design & Construction Operations focused in the Life Sciences including Business Development, Project Management and Profit & Loss.



·          Promote a strong safety program and safety record that is in the top quartile of metrics for industry leaders; hold accountability for the safety performance for projects being executed out of the Bay Area office

·          Responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, centered on overall commitment to operating a safe workplace both in the office and at the jobsite

·          Set and communicate the strategic vision and cultural atmosphere for the office

·          Lead annual business planning efforts for the office and define how the company’s strategic vision and annual goals will be adopted and delivered through execution at an office level

·          Serve as client point of contact for new and existing clients by participating in business development and networking activities, maintaining personal client relationships, and acting as Project Executive on ongoing projects

·          Develop win and project delivery strategies for key pursuits and ensure an integrated approach is consistently applied to each project whenever possible

·          Develop and grow the office using a decentralized and entrepreneurial model by identifying strategic growth opportunities in new markets, client bases, or other avenues while retaining commitment to core values and culture

·          Responsible for overall office financials for design and construction operations and for meeting revenue, growth, and profitability targets as agreed.   

·          Manage key, strategic projects where appropriate and deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting client satisfaction goals

·          Set and enforce workplace standards in line with core values

·          Support Group Leaders and assist them with their roles and responsibilities



·          Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, or Business-related field

·          12+ years of experience in design/construction industry

·          10+ years of experience in Life Sciences industry

·          2+ years of experience in management or direct oversight of design and/or construction teams

·          Experience with design/build integration at a project and operational level

·          Experience with Business Development and Client Management

·          Experience with Business Operations with a proven track record of accountability and profitability

·          Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence a must
