About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plant Manager to oversee daily plant production operations, ensuring optimal capacity while maintaining financial controls and meeting stringent quality and regulatory standards. This role involves implementing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and sustainability while overseeing key plant functions, including accounting, maintenance, distribution, and administration.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Bachelor's degree required; master’s or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or distribution within a lean environment.
  • Strong business acumen, including P&L responsibility, KPI management, and strategic planning.
  • Experience directing distribution operations with a focus on quality, profitability, lean initiatives, and efficiency.
  • Commitment to safety, employee development, and superior customer service.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment to resolve operational issues.
  • Experience with ERP systems and ERP implementation is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day in this role may include:

  • Implementing safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
  • Managing departmental operations and directing the work of two or more subordinates.
  • Recommending hiring, termination, promotions, and disciplinary actions for employees within the department.
  • Addressing worker grievances and complaints or escalating unresolved issues as needed.
  • Clearly communicating departmental and plant-wide goals to employees.
  • Reviewing production orders and schedules to plan manufacturing operations.
  • Establishing priorities and production sequences to optimize output.
  • Preparing operational schedules and coordinating manufacturing activities to meet quality and production specifications.
  • Analyzing production scrap and operating reports to minimize costs and prevent delays.
