Battery Pack Engineering Lead

Job Summary: The Battery Pack Engineering lead is responsible for designing, developing, and releasing core products, features, and designs of the overall pack for internal and external customer products. This role involves being the primary customer-facing lead for development and launch support.


  • Drive the development of new components & assemblies and create tools & processes supporting efficient design.
  • Act as the primary technical interface to internal & external customers.
  • Apply technical knowledge to ensure on-time delivery of work products throughout the product development life cycle.
  • Serve as a mentor to Design Release Engineers.
  • Specify pack components, materials, and solutions to meet internal and customer requirements.
  • Contribute to system DFMEA/PFMEA and DVP&R.
  • Lead Product & Process design reviews.
  • Evaluate supplier information to support the selection of appropriate suppliers.
  • Work with the prototype build team to identify design improvements and support DFM/DFA.
  • Support prototype builds and resolve engineering issues.
  • Provide technical support to production manufacturing and Quality teams.
  • Expand professional and technical knowledge through educational seminars and conferences.
  • Complete projects in a timely manner and adhere to safety standards.

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum BS in Mechanical/Electrical/Systems Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electrification product design or product development.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting methods and disciplined documentation.
  • Experienced with high voltage lithium-ion battery systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive & industry standards.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with attention to detail.
  • Safety conscious.
