The Test Engineer is responsible for designing, troubleshooting, and maintaining test hardware, software, and equipment to ensure efficient processing of products. This includes developing test programs, providing engineering support, and optimizing processes for compliance and cost-effectiveness.
The company is a large Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company specializing in Aerospace & Defense customers.
Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance to Test Engineers and support production troubleshooting, including PCA diagnostics
Design and validate test equipment, fixtures, and hardware interfaces
Install, repair, and maintain test fixtures, PCs, and ATE systems
Analyze customer specifications to develop cost-effective testing solutions
Define, debug, and implement test programs using high-speed ATE
Document and review engineering schematics, test procedures, and technical reports
Conduct experiments to improve test processes, product yield, and quality controls
Liaise with customers and vendors to resolve technical issues and certify software
Manage moderate to complex projects independently or assist with larger projects
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and ITAR regulations
Qualifications and Skills
Education: B.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physical Science, or equivalent experience
Experience:
Two years in electrical testing of integrated circuits or a related field
Programming ATE and using test equipment like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers
Troubleshooting analog, digital, and embedded systems at the component level
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and schematic capture tools
Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and TCP/IP protocols
Hands-on soldering with SMT and through-hole components
Experience with prototype development and mechanical systems
Soft Skills:
Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to multitask and adapt in fast-paced environments
