The Research Engineer is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, developing and implementing advancements in compounding technology in a corporate level She/he is also responsible for the development and the industrialization of new processes during pilot scale and full implementation into manufacturing.
Maintains a safe work environment for self and others.
Evaluate new or improved technologies related to compounding, extrusion and pultrusion.
Lead implementation of new/improved technologies into R&I labs and compounding plants (including specifying new equipment and its installation)
Lead industrialization of new processes into defined manufacturing locations, working with T-function and manufacturing engineers.
Develop relationships within R&I organization and the compounding community to keep abreast of recent developments and upcoming needs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum BS (PhD preferred) in Mechanical engineering, or Material/Polymer science or Chemical engineering or related fields.
Experience with high temperature, engineering thermoplastics, compounding and long fiber thermoplastics.
