Module Design Release Engineer

The Module Design Release Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and executing core battery systems architecture and components. This position involves defining, documenting, and designing mechanical architecture, overseeing key mechanical systems and components, and validating their functionality. Collaboration with prototype, production engineering teams, key suppliers, and validation/testing teams is essential for success.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed product requirements based on regulations, customer needs, and internal standards.
  • Design mechanical systems to accommodate various Li-Ion batteries in terms of housing, structural support, thermal management, and electrical connectivity.
  • Specify components and ensure products adhere to internal and customer requirements.
  • Conduct mechanical system DFMEAs.
  • Evaluate supplier information and validation data to select appropriate suppliers.
  • Contribute to supplier selection process.
  • Create mechanical system DVP&Rs and integrate them into overall system DVP&Rs.
  • Support prototype system builds and troubleshoot battery system issues.
  • Stay updated on industry developments through educational seminars and publications.
  • Complete projects within set timelines to facilitate team growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain predictable and reliable attendance.

 

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Systems Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in automotive or similar product design and development focusing on electro-mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in data processing and statistical analysis.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting technical data and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with high voltage lithium-ion battery systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of the product design process.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with acute attention to detail.
