Area Maintenance Systems Leader/Senior Electrical Engineer - Maine

FPC Bangor is working with a Specialty Paper mill looking for a Sr Electrical Engineer. The Sr Electrical Engineer will provide technical expertise and electrical reliability support for the Finishing and Power Distribution systems. 

Qualifications:

  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive reliability systems, in the electrical and instrumentation areas, which improve equipment reliability while maintaining or reducing the total cost of maintaining those assets.
  • Problem solving, and assisting others with the same, within complicated electrical and instrument systems such as Coordinated Drive Systems, DCS, PLC’s, Power Distribution and Control, and network applications.
  • Provide engineering support to stakeholders during all phases of the project life cycle including, but not limited to, scope definition, equipment design, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Training and mentoring union crafts persons as well as supervisors and planners on various E&I systems. Continually enhancing E&I team technical skills while expanding knowledge of equipment reliability best practices.
  • Provide technical assistance to craft persons, supervisors, and managers in their area of expertise.
  • Lead and participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis activities. Support proactive reliability assessments, including data collection, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide engineering support to commission engineering studies, develop project definition /scope and execution plans for equipment installation, modification, and replacement in accordance with site specifications.
  • For projects meeting criteria, complete Capital approval process and manage projects from concept to completion.

Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.

·       Position requires a minimum of 7-10 years in a manufacturing environment.   

  • Proficient in Project Management
  • Design and troubleshoot Coordinated Drive Systems, PLC’s, Power Distribution systems/components
  • Perform Allen-Bradley PowerFlex Series variable frequency drive programming
  • Experience with medium and low voltage power distribution systems including substations, transformers, switchgear, protection devices, and transmission cabling
  • Experience with electrical reliability best management practices such as infrared, ultrasonic, oil sampling, diagnostic software/systems
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
