Responsibilities
Serve as the Lead Engineer for the E&I Discipline on various projects and initiatives. Does not have direct reports but will assign work to other engineers and designers within the E&I team.
Sketch conceptual designs, transferring ideas to designers for development of E&I drawings.
Design and configure the Process Distributed Control System (DCS). Provides a detail specification for both hardware and software.
Maintain the instrument list associated with the P&ID’s.
Develop logic drawings (E9’s) from P&ID’s, vendor description of operation or functional description and coordinate with other project disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Operations)
Develop device location drawings (E5 and E6’s) working with the modeling group to ensure E&I items are located properly and with access to the device for maintenance.
Coordinate the E&I design effort as the Lead E&I Engineer for a particular project.
Lead the detail engineering effort cable tray and conduit design, electrical and instrument cable specification, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection.
Develop new technology designs and incorporation into larger systems.
Review designs and suggest improvements to proposed design relative to its function.
Work as a "team player" with all company departments and employees in all assignments. Work toward building consensus on all assignments by finding solutions which meet the best interests of all parties.
Qualifications
BS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering.
10+ years’ experience in industrial or technical environment. Steel industry is preferred.
Excellent knowledge base of electrical engineering technical skills and knowledge of processes.
10+ years’ experience in industrial or technical environment. Steel industry is preferred.
Proven experience with specification, startup, and troubleshooting of process control systems (DCS/PLC).
Basic computer skills for Autodesk products (AutoCAD, etc.)
International travel experience and willingness to travel abroad. 10-25%
Industrial plant experience.
Must be US Citizen with current passport.
Additional performance and long term incentive bonus on top of base salary.
