Role Overview: The Director of Program Management will lead the Program Management team to drive customer success from project initiation through delivery. Responsible for developing and executing strategies that ensure program excellence, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction while managing cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. Representing a very successful and growing EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) organization, working primarily with Aerospace and Defense customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Program Management team, overseeing all project lifecycles from concept to completion, ensuring projects meet customer requirements and business goals
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize program execution, streamline workflows, and enhance customer satisfaction
Collaborate closely with internal departments (Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain) to ensure seamless communication and coordination across teams
Act as the primary point of contact for customers, managing expectations, ensuring clarity in project requirements, and resolving any issues or escalations
Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor program progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track
Develop comprehensive program plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, while ensuring adherence to company standards and customer specifications
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth program execution and delivery
Lead efforts to improve processes, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
Mentor and develop Program Managers, providing clear direction, setting performance objectives, and fostering a culture of accountability and growth
Participate in strategic planning, providing input on business development, resource needs, and future growth opportunities for the Program Management department
Ensure programs are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Contribute to customer satisfaction and retention by continually enhancing program delivery and customer communication
Prepare and present reports to senior management on program status, risks, and opportunities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred)
10+ years of experience in program management
5+ years of experience EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) or PCBA manufacturing
Proven leadership experience with at least 3 years managing a team of program managers
Strong understanding of PCBA, electromechanical, and wire/cable assembly processes
Expertise in project management methodologies, including Agile, Lean, and Six Sigma
Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on customer satisfaction and quality
Experience with customer-facing roles, managing high-profile projects and resolving issues with professionalism
Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
