FPC Bangor is seeking a highly skilled Process Control Engineer for a well-established manufacturer. The Process Control Engineer will have experience in process control systems, control loops, programing, tuning, installation, maintenance, and optimization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the manufacturing processes while also identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement process control systems, including the design of control strategies, selection of sensors and actuators, and programming of control systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to process control systems, including equipment failures, software bugs, and communication errors.
Optimize process control systems to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
Provide training and support to operators and maintenance personnel on the use and maintenance of process control systems.
Keep abreast of industry developments and emerging technologies related to process control systems.
Become and maintain proficiency on process control systems used by the business.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience in process control engineering, with a focus on the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems
Strong knowledge of control theory, including PID control, feedback control, and advanced control techniques
Experience with process instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, and control valves
Proficiency in multiple programming languages and logic such as function block logic (FBL), ladder logic (LAD), structure text (ST), instruction list (IL) and or sequential function charts (SFC)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team
Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards related to process control systems, such as ISA S88 and S95, NEC, and NFPA
