ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENTATION SUPERVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Supervisor of on site Instrument and Electrical Technicians

  • Technical expertise and ownership of the site Electrical System and Instrumentation.

  • Provide forward looking vision, strategy and direction for Electrical and Instrumentation Upgrades.

  • Actively engages in the development of improved engineering procedures, standards and methods.

  • Execute reliability improvement projects for Instrumentation and Electrical areas on site.

  • Leads and is accountable for the development and execution of plant capital projects and selected initiatives to

    drive continuous improvement and meet site Key X’s.

  • Supports advancement initiatives in the areas of Safety, Zero Defect, and Operations Improvement through

    utilization of a continuous improvement culture.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure Electrical Systems operate effectively, efficiently and safely.

    • Design and develop upgrades to electrical infrastructure along with Instrument Reliability projects.

    • Analyze data and present findings

    • Work collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers and other internal staff to achieve

      project goals

    • Responsible for all aspects of maintenance and improvement initiatives on Site Electrical systems.

    • Provides technical support for instrument and electrical system maintenance.

    • Responsible for power and controls designs on capital projects. Manage projects within cost and time constraints

    • Supports the development and execution of Site improvement projects to ensure business deliverables are

      achieved.

    • Manages adequate technical, engineering and contractor resources to meet project deliverables.

    • Leads or participates in selected work process and area improvement team initiatives within the power and

      controls area.

    • Manages Site documentation of area electrical classifications and compliance with national electrical codes and

      other applicable standards.

    • Designs, documents and maintains Site safety interlock systems.

    • Trains I&E (Instrument & Electrical) Technicians on instrument and controls equipment.

    • Within six (6) months of employment, complete various training for regulatory requirements and hazardous waste

      management procedures relevant to this position, and complete any required refresher training thereafter. This position may further include responding to emergencies, requiring familiarization with emergency procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems.     • Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • A minimum of 5 years work-related experience is a must

    • Employee with good qualifications, business minded and strong practical abilities that is capable of working in a

      team environment.

    • Must have excellent analytical skills.

    • Must have ability to lead and motivate teams.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

    • Requires regular, dependable attendance.

      Education Required

• B.S. Degree in Electrical is required

Education Preferred
• SIX Sigma Preferred

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Based at the Middle Tennessee site.

    • Required to regularly be in production areas

    • Travels and works overtime as required.

    • High Pressure work environment

      REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

    • Reports to Technical Manager

    • 5 indirect reports

    • Interacts regularly with Operations, Technical, and Management personnel, vendors, and contractors
