Director Fiber Procurement -  Maine or New Brunswick

FPC Bangor is working with a pulp manufacturer with an urgent need for a Director of Fiber Procurement. The successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement of pulpwood, wood chips and biomass at competitive rates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Negotiate fiber supply contracts with sawmills and suppliers in NB, QC, and Maine.

·       Manage the important long-term wood chip and biomass supply contracts and continue to improve relationships with fiber suppliers

·       Development and management of fiber and biomass strategies, to be reviewed regularly with mill managers and the senior corporate management team.

·       Ensure changes in supply/inventory levels at competitor mills are followed and shared within the procurement group and mill management.

·       Supervision of the procurement team and follow safety regulations

·       Travel approximately 60% visiting suppliers to ensure quality and volume requirements are satisfied.

·       Develop annual budgets and implement tracking system for cost and volume control

·       A visible leader who fosters a collaborative performance driver

·       Oversee various Forestry Certifications and interact with various government agencies

QUALIFICATIONS:

·       BS Degree in Forestry plus 5 years of experience in Forestry, Sales, and/or purchasing

·       Forestry, Pulp Mill, Sawmill, Sales experience will be considered

·       Must be eligible to work in the US or Canada
