Position: Principal Formulations Specialist
Incumbent: Open (new position)
Location: Greensboro, NC
Reports To: Director of Innovation
Purpose:
- As a member of our client's global innovation team, you will play a crucial role in developing, patenting, and commercializing the next generation of wood protection and agricultural protection products.
- Your expertise will be instrumental in providing in-lab product development and formulation guidance, while also serving as the project lead for collaborative projects between our client and other Company subsidiaries.
- Additionally, you will mentor and develop junior scientists to foster talent growth and contribute to the company's overall success.

Responsibilities:
- Drive the product development cycle
- Collect EPA registration data
- Develop patented products
- Provide in-lab product development and formulation expertise
- Lead collaborative projects with other Company subsidiaries
- Mentor and develop junior scientists
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Forensics, Forestry, Materials Science, or a related field
- Experience with formulation equipment and general analytical equipment in developing pesticide or agricultural adjuvant formulations
- Knowledge of US EPA government guidelines and REACH (EU) Guidelines
- Ability to work remotely from core leadership in a multi-disciplinary setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering, scientific, and/or mathematical concepts and theories in chemistry
- Expertise in the scientific method and the ability to design, organize, and coordinate research projects independently
- Ability to maintain a detailed laboratory notebook, generate graphs, develop scientific reports, and manuscripts based on original research
- Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and multi-tasking on several projects
- Proficiency in utilizing statistics and statistical software
- Strong desire to innovate and test new technology
- Ability to work in a team setting or independently
- Ability to mentor and train less experienced personnel both remotely and/or in person
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in formulation chemistry with knowledge of surfactants, emulsifiers, and dispersants
- Ability to develop and test new formulas
- Ability to work on multiple, simultaneous complex projects with short deadlines and quick, short turn-around tasks while still producing superior quality work products
- Relocation
- Salary 110-115 target
