Regulatory & Environmental Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:

Ensure company operations and products adhere to relevant regulations (ISO 9001, OSHA, EPA, FDA). Monitor, document, and improve EHS program. Liaise with regulatory bodies and internal teams for compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Review, monitor, and ensure compliance with OSHA, RCRA, Homeland Security, EPA, DEA, and DHS regulations. Prepare and submit regulatory documents.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Develop and maintain documentation related to regulatory compliance. Generate reports on compliance status, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Training & Education: Conduct training sessions on compliance requirements and best practices. Stay informed on industry trends and regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identify compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Liaison: Act as primary point of contact with regulatory agencies. Facilitate communication between the company and regulatory bodies.

Success Criteria:

  • Zero late regulatory report filings.
  • Zero regulatory findings against the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Regulatory Affairs).
  • Regulatory knowledge/familiarity with OSHA, RCRA, Homeland Security, EPA, TSCA, SARA Title III, and applicable reports.
  • 3-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office apps.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (e.g., OSHA Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Operations Level or above).

Work Environment:

  • Professional office environment with occasional exposure to loud noises or fumes.

  • Must be able to comply with OSHA Standard 1910.134 Respiratory Protection.
